Wish I could say this was a result of having too much time on my hands, but, instead, it’s about looking for a bit of fun as life tends to pile it on a bit. So last night I decide to ask ChatGBT to write a script for Lord of the Rings featuring The Beatles (they were thinking of trying to adapt Tolkien’s novels back in the 1960s), and what was given back in response was a bit of fun, including an original song via lyrics. Pulled together a couple of images and, voila, what’s about to follow. Hope you enjoy.
John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are sitting in the middle of the Shire, surrounded by hobbits. They are dressed in colorful, eccentric outfits.
JOHN (as Frodo): Hey there, me mates! It seems we’ve got ourselves a grand adventure ahead.
PAUL (as Sam): Aye, Frodo! I’ll be right by your side, singing me heart out.
GEORGE (as Gandalf): Frodo, my lad, I’ve got something for you. It’s a magical guitar pick. Keep it safe, for it holds the power of a thousand melodies.
RINGO (as Merry): Oi, Frodo! We’ll stick with ya, no matter what comes our way. We’ll bring the rhythm to this journey.
They set off on their journey, singing a whimsical tune.
JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, RINGO (The Beatles) (Verse 1): In a land of magic and lore, Four hobbits with a love so pure, To save Middle-earth, they’ll explore, With music that will endure.
(Chorus): Hey, we’re the Fab Four on a quest, Through mountains high and valleys blessed, With our melodies, we’ll face the test, In Middle-earth, we’ll find our zest.
INT. MORIA – CAVE – NIGHT
The Beatles are surrounded by darkness, with only their musical instruments as a light source.
JOHN (as Frodo): It’s getting darker, lads. Let’s play a song to light our way.
They start strumming their guitars and singing a hopeful tune.
JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, RINGO (The Beatles) (Verse 2): In the shadows of Moria’s gloom, We’ll face our fears, though we assume, With love and music, we’ll dispel the doom, And bring light back to this room.
(Chorus): Hey, we’re the Fab Four on a quest, Through mountains high and valleys blessed, With our melodies, we’ll face the test, In Middle-earth, we’ll find our zest.
INT. MOUNT DOOM – DAY
The Beatles stand at the edge of Mount Doom, the One Ring in their hands.
PAUL (as Sam): Frodo, me mate, it’s time to let go. Destroy the ring and bring peace to the world.
JOHN (as Frodo): You’re right, Sam. It’s time to end this madness.
They sing a powerful anthem.
JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, RINGO (The Beatles) (Verse 3): The fires rage, the ring must burn, Our melodies, with power, we’ll return, Middle-earth, to love and joy we’ll turn, Our legacy, forever we’ll earn.
(Chorus): Hey, we’re the Fab Four on a quest, Through mountains high and valleys blessed, With our melodies, we’ve passed the test, In Middle-earth, we’ve found our zest.
The Beatles toss the One Ring into the fiery abyss, and the ground trembles.
INT. RETURN TO THE SHIRE – DAY
The Beatles return to the Shire as heroes, surrounded by cheering hobbits.
JOHN (as Frodo): We did it, lads! We saved Middle-earth!
PAUL (as Sam): And we did it with a little help from our friends!
They break into a triumphant song.
JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, RINGO (The Beatles) (Verse 4): We faced the darkness, side by side, With love and music, we turned the tide, Middle-earth, in harmony will abide, Our legacy, forever we’ll ride.
(Chorus): Hey, we’re the Fab Four on a quest, Through mountains high and valleys blessed, With our melodies, we’ve passed the test, In Middle-earth, we’ve found our zest.
They continue singing and celebrating, bringing joy to the Shire.
